My 1950 Pontiac Chieftain Silver Streak will be the very first car I have attempted to Hot Rod.

This is my very first Blog and my first post on my first blog.

This blog will be all about my attempt to Hot Rod a 1950 Pontiac Chieftain.

Most people would not spend money or time rodding out a 4 door, but I’ve always been different that way and I like the oddball stuff. Yes, a 2 door is much more desirable, but I like this car so I’m going to give it a go.

The Cars story.

I originally found this car sitting behind a barn in NW Wisconsin while visiting the farm for a youth baseball party for my oldest son.

When I first saw the car I asked if it was for sale and the answer was no. The owner told me that the motor was seized and he was going to attempt to unseize and get it running. That was 6 years ago.

I found out that the owner was attempting to unseized the motor last October, after 6 years of sitting in a field behind a barn and then last November (2016) I was contacted by the owner and was told that I was #2 on the list of possible buyers and that #1 on the list had backed out so the owner and I agreed on a purchase price ($1,000) and I purchased the vehicle. They towed it to my home and I pushed it into the garage where it is in the picture and I started documenting the car by taking inventory of what was there and what wasn’t and I took many pictures.

Another year has gone by

Well, it’s been almost a year since I touched a wrench to my car and some of it is due to laziness, some of it is due to health issues...
