Motor out?

Yesterday, June 2nd, 2017. I attempted to remove the motor and transmission from the car using my Kubota compact tractor and front end loader.

With tension lifting on the motor using the tractor I tried wiggling the motor back and forth to free it from it's cradle, but what happened next was not what was expected.

The vehicle fell off the jack stands and all but one jack stand was holding the car off the ground. My youngest son and I thankfully got the car back on the jack stands and didn't do any damage to the body at all. LUCKY!

My tractor almost flipped over from the weight of the motor and transmission. We're talking about a 1950 straight 8.

It's a pig, very heavy!

I righted my tractor, disconnected it from the car motor and decided to call my cousins and ask them if that had a "cherry picker".

Another year has gone by

Well, it’s been almost a year since I touched a wrench to my car and some of it is due to laziness, some of it is due to health issues...
