Removal of Rear Differential and gas tank.

Tonight my eldest son Nicholas and I removed the rear differential and the gas tank.

The rear differential came out a lot easier than I expected for a 67 year old vehicle. We had a little trouble with the front of the leaf spring mounting bolts, but all and all it came out pretty easy.

The gas tank also came out fairly easy.

I did spray the bolts several weeks ago with Seafoam Deep Creep so they had a very long time to soak in the rust breaking spray and the bolts came right off and the tank dropped right out, no problem.

Nick removed all the scraps of rust and sound deadening material from the trunk and vacuumed it out so that I can start deciding where to cut the rust and replace the trunk floor with new metal.

Another year has gone by

Well, it’s been almost a year since I touched a wrench to my car and some of it is due to laziness, some of it is due to health issues...
