Holidays and Hockey Season

According to this web page my last post was in October 2017 and it is now January 2018.
Up here in the Northern hemisphere it is Winter and it is also Hockey Season in my household.
Hockey Season is all consuming, with practices and games taking up all of our families' time.
I have a high school student athlete who plays on a high school hockey team and luckily he can drive himself to practices and games which helps us a lot as far as time management goes, but my youngest son has practices and games that are 40+ minutes away from home so either my wife or I or both have to drive him. We are also in a car pool so we and other parents take turns driving our players to practices.
Anyway, it takes up massive amounts of time and leaves me little time to work on the car. That's my first excuse.
Here's my second excuse.
It has been below zero degrees Fahrenheit here in the Heartland and I do not have a heater in my garage so I am not motivated to find the time to work on the car in this weather. This week it will be in the 20'sF at my place, but with hockey in the picture I am still not motivated to work on the car. We will not be out of this below zero F temps until after February.
Hockey season will not stop until the 2nd weekend of March so you may not see any posting from me until then.
For those of you who are motivated enough to work in this weather more power to you and for those of you who also do not have heat in their garage/shed as I do not, I feel your pain.
I'll get back at it this spring. I'm one year down on my five year plan and I'll be losing 3 months the beginning of this year.
Time does not move slowly by. Whom ever said that was lying. Time flies and before you know it 5 years has gone by in the blink of an eye. Seems like I was holding my 14 year old as a baby just yesterday. Blink.... there goes 14 years. Sheesh..... My 14 year old just turned 14 in December and my 16 year old is turning 17 this weekend.
Here's the Chorus to a song by Kenny Chesney called "Don't Blink" and it's how I am feeling lately.
The first time I heard this song it hit me emotionally hard and now it's just reality although sometimes I still tear up a little.
Here's the Chorus:
"Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink"
Great song. Look it up on the Youtube thingy. It'll make one think that's for sure.
Alright, peace to you all on this new year.
May you be as productive as you wish, may your days be blessed and may you have a fantastic 2018.
